Balmain, a collection/brand that I would’ve gave my left testicle for last year/season. Fall Ready-To-Wear 2012 was simply superb, fabulously flawless and everything I was craving/needing from a designer. It was rich, classy, embellished , modern, vintage-inspired and youthful all wrapped in one. That was Rousteing second season as creative director and he definitely set a tone.
But we aren’t hear to talk about his past collection lol Autumn/Winter 2013-2014 is probably going to be one of the most speculated, criticized collection in my opinion. It’s a totally different feel/vibe this go around it’s not all about the divine, sparkly things in life. It’s very modest mod, sticking with very unique styles of jackets and “professional”color scheme with a inner city twist. Some say it’s bleak, boring and leaves you searching from more. And I honestly can say I agree. Bleak, dull, dry is how i feel during the winter, pieces that i can transform into day in night pieces are quite valuable and less is more. Plus, i love the emphsis put on the coats, jackets and blazers from double breasted, fur to fringe with stunning coat you can’t ever go wrong.
The collection was presented/streamed digitally through www.digitalfashionshows.com free of charge during New York Fashion Week on Feburary 8th 2013 at 9 a.m. est. and it was amazing feeling to actually attend/virtual attend one my favorite designers fashion show and not get the information through a third party and actual designer himself with access to the run the show, exclusive style notes and images.
My Favorite Looks
A black coat, belted made out of wool and fur. Pants are stretch black engineered leather pant. Black wool rib turtleneck wore underneath. Black suede ankle boots.
Black suede jacket with fringe. Underneath a black rib wool turtleneck. Tapered masculine pant in black crepe viscose. Skinny black leather belt. Black stretch suede ankle boots.
Oversized navy biker coat made of out mixed wool. Soft leather shit and crropped pant with cuff in ivory crepe viscose. Boots are sued ankle boots.
